Access Control System refers to the practice of restricting entrance to a property, a building, or a room to
authorized persons, to protect lives, properties, and information. Physical Access Control Systems can be classi-
fied into two types; Standalone systems that use standalone controller and Central systems comprised of read-
ers and a control panel.

Standalone System One Door
A standalone controller is a controller with built-in reader. It can control the opening/closing of the doors without any connection to a con-
trol panel. This can be operated on network and are usually applied to small size system.
Central System
Readers transmit information to a control panel and this control panel controls the opening/closing of the doors and other items. This is
comprised of readers, a control panel, standalone controller. Both can operate using RS-485/433/232C and over a network and are usually
applied in large size system.
The reader is the main device installed in the entrance and read the information of who pass the door. Readers
can be categorized depending on the 'credential' it can read. The credentials can be cards, fingerprint, face, and
password key pad. Mostly, readers in higher categories can read the credentials in lower categories'.
ex) Face recognition reader can read Fingerprint, Card, Keypad. Fingerprint reader can read Card, Keypad

Biometric Standalone Controller
Biometric standalone controller can read a part of a person who passes. This can read fingerprint, face, iris, etc.
Face Recognition
Facial recognition standalone controllers have a built-in camera and
can read a face of person. It checks a face of the person who is trying
to accesses with its database of faces that were registered before
and decide whether to allow or disallow the access
Fingerprint Recognition
Fingerprint standalone controllers has a fingerprint sensor that can
read fingerprints of a person who accesses, when he/her touches
the pad. Users should register the fingerprints of who are allowed to
access. 1,000/2,000/4,000 users' fingerprints are able to register
depending on the model.
